Notes from September 10 Leadership Team Meeeting

September 10 C.O.R.E. Coalition Leadership Team Meeting (State Library, Raleigh)

In attendance: Mike Taylor, Linda Hadden, Becky Callison, Linda Van Sistine-Yost, Margaret Marshall, Jennifer Pratt, Mark Livingston. Special Guests: Dr. Robert Burgin, Holt Kornegay.

Agenda items plus relevant discussion points or next steps included:

- Revised CORE Strategy Map and Plan to be posted on Google Docs (http://sites.google.com/site/corelibrariesnorthcarolina)
- Rervised CORE Leadership Team Charter to be posted on Google Docs
- Confirmed 3 Task Forces for FY 2010
- Online Learning to be headed by Linda Van Sistine-Yost with Jeriann Thacker and Thomas Milan of Perry Library and others TBD)
- Purchasing to be headed by Linda Hadden with Mike Taylor, Tammy Fulcher, and others TBD
- Advocacy and Marketing to be headed by Ginny Orvedahl with Linda Van Sistine-Yost and others TBD
- Reviewed the partnership being developed between State Library and WebJunction (WebJunction North Carolina to launch November 1)
- Becky Callison to serve as Team Leader for the CORE Coalition Leadership Team
- Linda Van Sistine-Yost and Ginny Orvedahl to publish e-letter and post blog by Oct 1 and NCLA Conference start
- Discussed NCLA Conference Promotion in Greenville and reviewed plans for exhibit booth #303
- Reviewed Resource Sharing Summit results on Shared Catalog (conversation to continue September 24)
- State Library is spearheading a "needs assessment" of libraries state-wide in November.
- Dr. Burgin to start action plan for technology assessment (confirmed project results; reviewed schedule modifications; aim is to complete by February 2010 to support grant development for implementation)

CORE Coalition Leadership Team to meet next on Thursday, November 19 at either the Smithfield Library (Margaret Marshall to confirm) or the State Library (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Note: All C.O.R.E. libraries are welcome to send a representative to any Leadership or Task Force team meetings.
